How to Perform an Automated Carrier Gas Leak Check on a Shimadzu GC-2030
In this video, we'll show you how to perform an automated carrier gas leak check on a Shimadzu GC-2030.
Gas Chromatograph
The Shimadzu Nexis GC-2030 is a cutting-edge gas chromatograph designed for precision, flexibility, and efficiency across diverse analytical applications including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, environmental, food and forensics.
The GC-2030 also features Analytical Intelligence for fast, accurate analysis. Its automated workflows enable users to operate the system remotely, saving time and euort. The system can also diagnose itself, simplifying the maintenance process. With these intuitive features, users can easily operate the system and collect accurate data, regardless of their skill level.

"**AOC-30i Auto Injector, FID detector, tetradecane (2.5 ng to the column), split injection. Results may vary depending on the sample and the analytical conditions."
The Nexis GC-2030 system can be easily expanded to perform different types of sample analysis. With LabSolutions™ software, you can control up to three injector units and four detectors at once. You can also attach capillary and packed columns to the system. These options enable you to perform multiple analysis methods with a single GC unit, saving benchtop space.
Nexis GC-2030 systems use Analytical Intelligence to perform fast, accurate analysis. With Clean Pilot, a system conformity test, and LabSolutions software, the instrument provides automated workflows from startup to analysis – even with remote operation, increasing productivity. These features enable the system to monitor and diagnose itself, handle issues without user input, and function as if operated by an expert analyst. That means operators can use these systems to acquire accurate data regardless of their skill level.
The Nexis GC-2030 is compatible with various high-sensitivity detectors, including the barrier discharge ionization detector (BID-2030). This detector enables accurate analysis of compounds using a low-frequency dielectric barrier discharge plasma for ionization. Its sensitivity enables it to detect a variety of compounds other than helium (He) and neon (Ne) for versatile analysis.
The GC-2030 can also pair with sulfur chemiluminescence detectors (SCDs). These detectors are the most sensitive GC detectors for measuring sulfur compounds. The Nexis SCD-2030 has an ultra-short flow path and high efficiency redox cell, providing the highest levels of sensitivity and stability.
