Core Boost is an optional add-on module which comprises two proprietary functions: Boost and ROI Reconstructions.
The Boost Reconstruction function speeds up the CT image reconstruction calculation of high-resolution images. By using Shimadzu’s proprietary high-speed calculation technology. When an image reconstruction size is 2,048 x 2,048 pixels, the CT images are displayed within 60 seconds after data acquisition finishes.
Faster image reconstruction at 2048 × 2048 pixels or 4096 × 4096 pixels.
* When the scan conditions are: Clear Mode, Normal-Full Scan, 2,400 projections, 1,500 slices, and an image reconstruction size of 2,048 x 2,048 pixels.
* The Boost Reconstruction function specializes in speeding up the image reconstruction computation process. It may adversely affect the quality of cross-sectional images.
Shading artifacts typically occur when a part of the scanned object extends beyond the scan field of view. This is called truncation. Truncation causes loss of signal intensity in one part of the image, resulting in dark shading artifacts in the reconstructed images. The ROI Reconstruction function can improve the quality of the images when truncation occurs by reducing shading artifacts, resulting in more accurate image analyses.
The Metal Artifact Reduction Software is a reconstruction program which reduces metal artifacts in cross-sectional images. This software allows for easier and more accurate analyses in cross-sectional images. Shimadzu’s original algorithm optimizes the parameters for image reconstruction based on a sample’s material.
HADI-S* offers extensive enhancement and measurement tools, and also allows application-specific macros and plug-ins. Shimadzu’s original plug-in tools are included.
