LCMS-TQ RX systems feature CoreSpray technology, an advanced gas delivery system that provides high flows, better heat transfer and reliable nebulization. The system sprays the sample with an even layer of gas during ionization. This results in an efficient heat distribution of the ionization source. This video shows a step-by-step procedure for performing maintenance on the ESI and DUIS Focus Unit for Shimadzu’s LCMS-TQ RX Series. The focus electrode delivers ions into the mass spectrometer. Contamination of the electrode as a result of long term use of decreases delivery efficiency and reduces sensitivity. If this happens, clean the focus electrode according to the instructions in the video.
How To: Replacing the ESI Capillary on a Shimadzu LCMS-TQ RX Series
This video shows a step-by-step procedure for performing maintenance on the ESI Capillary for Shimadzu’s LCMS-TQ RX Series. A high voltage is applied to the sample solution sprayed from the tip of the capillary in order to ionize the sample. Since a very fine-gauge pipe is used in the capillary, if any very small pieces of dirt get into the mobile phase or the sample, they can cause blockage which will lead to a rise in the pump pressure. If this happens, replace the capillary according to the instructions in the video.
