MALDI iDPlus can be used to reliably identify micro-organisms in water, wastewater, and bio-solids. The customizable database offers great flexibility for a range of environmental samples.

Step 1: Sample preparation
Grow bacteria 24 hours by heterotrophic plate, or any other media. Transfer a tiny amount of cells to a FlexiMass™ target and add 0.5 μL matrix solution. Air-dry.

Step 2: Identification
The FlexiMass target is loaded into the iDPlus where mass spectral fingerprints of the samples are acquired. Fingerprints are matched against the SARAMIS database of SuperSpectra for immediate identification. Results are displayed within one minute.
